April 26, 2025 by adminDrinks

Warm, spiced, and comforting — this homemade chai latte is infused with aromatic spices and topped with a dash of cinnamon. Perfect for chilly mornings or a cozy afternoon pick-me-up!

🍂 Ingredients

For the Chai Concentrate:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 tsp loose black tea)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 3 whole cardamom pods, slightly crushed
  • 2–3 black peppercorns
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger (about 1 inch), sliced
  • 1 star anise (optional)
  • 2–3 tbsp brown sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For the Latte:

  • 1 cup milk (any kind: whole, almond, oat, etc.)
  • Ground cinnamon, for topping

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Make the Chai Concentrate:

In a small saucepan, bring water, cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom, peppercorns, and ginger to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
Add tea bags and steep for another 3–5 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
Strain the concentrate, stir in sugar (or honey) and vanilla.

Froth the Milk:

Heat milk until steaming (but not boiling).
Froth the milk using a milk frother, whisk, or by shaking in a jar.

Assemble the Latte:

Pour the hot chai concentrate into a mug (about halfway full).
Top with frothed milk.
Sprinkle generously with ground cinnamon.

✨ To Serve:

Enjoy hot, with extra cinnamon or a drizzle of honey if you like it sweeter.
Pair with a buttery biscuit or a slice of banana bread for the ultimate cozy vibe.
