“Hot! Hot! Oh, we got it!” This ultra-creamy, indulgent hot chocolate is inspired by the beloved classic. Velvety smooth and packed with rich cocoa flavor — it’s a cup of pure comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups whole milk (or half-and-half for extra creaminess)

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (high quality)

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

  • Optional toppings: whipped cream, mini marshmallows, chocolate shavings, peppermint sticks

Instructions

  • Warm the Milk Base:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and heavy cream. Heat until hot but not boiling.

  • Add Chocolate & Cocoa:
Whisk in cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate chips, and salt. Stir constantly until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth and velvety.

  • Add Vanilla:
Stir in vanilla extract. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 2–3 minutes to deepen the flavor.

  • Serve It Up:
Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or whatever festive flair you like!

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor.

  • Add a drop of peppermint extract or a cinnamon stick for holiday vibes.

  • Want it dairy-free? Sub in almond milk and coconut cream.
