Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup of creamy peanut butter.
- Pour in 1 cup of granulated sugar.
- Crack in 1 large egg.
- Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- Mix everything together until well combined to form a smooth, thick dough.
- Fold in 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Optionally, add 1/2 cup of chopped nuts if desired.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop out portions of dough and roll them into 1-inch balls.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
- Gently press each ball down with a fork to create a crisscross pattern.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until golden brown around the edges but still soft in the center.
