- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the crumbled sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
- Mix in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses until well combined.
- Add the eggs, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk until smooth.
- Gently fold the cooked sausage into the egg and cheese mixture.
- Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Optionally, pre-bake the crust for about 10 minutes for a crispier texture.
- Carefully pour the sausage and cheese mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle extra shredded cheese on top if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 10-15 minutes to allow the filling to set.
- Slice into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
