- 1 package (12 rolls) of Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully remove the Hawaiian rolls from the packaging without pulling them apart.
- In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in the ground cinnamon until evenly distributed.
- If using, chop the nuts and add them to the mixture along with the raisins. Stir to combine.
- Pour half of the sticky mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Gently pull apart the Hawaiian rolls and place them in the baking dish, side by side.
- Pour the remaining sticky mixture over the top of the rolls, drizzling it evenly.
- Sprinkle any leftover nuts or raisins on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before inverting onto a serving platter.
- In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk.
- Beat until smooth and creamy, adding more milk if necessary for desired consistency.
- Invert the baking dish onto a large plate or serving platter.
- Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the sticky buns generously.
- Serve and enjoy!
