Description

Enjoy a refreshing Dirty Strawberry Soda, a delightful blend of fresh strawberries, fizzy club soda, and a hint of lemon-lime sweetness. Perfect for hot days or summer gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup club soda or sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • Strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, add the sliced strawberries.
  2. Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the strawberries.
  3. Add the fresh lemon juice.
  4. Using a fork or potato masher, gently mash the strawberries to create a chunky, syrupy consistency.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the sugar to dissolve and the strawberries to release their juices.
  6. In a large glass or pitcher, combine the strawberry mixture with the club soda.
  7. Pour in the lemon-lime soda.
  8. Gently stir the mixture to combine without losing carbonation.
  9. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  10. Pour the strawberry soda mixture over the ice, filling the glass about three-quarters full.
  11. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and/or whole strawberries if desired.
  12. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a berry blend, mix in other berries like blueberries or raspberries.
  • For an alcoholic version, add a splash of vodka or rum.
  • For an herbal twist, muddle basil or rosemary with the strawberries.
  • To make it a slush, blend the strawberry mixture with ice.
