Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Start by taking the chicken breasts out of the refrigerator. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts.
Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on one side without moving it.
Flip the chicken breasts and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Allow it to melt and become bubbly.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden.
Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze.
Bring the broth to a simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Mix until well combined.
Add 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and incorporated.
Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
Allow the chicken to simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes.
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Remove the skillet from heat.
Transfer the creamy garlic butter chicken to a serving platter or individual plates.
Drizzle any remaining sauce over the chicken.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
Serve with your choice of sides, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in olive oil, garlic, and herbs before cooking.
You can add sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the dish for added nutrition.
This dish can be made ahead and reheated gently. Add a splash of chicken broth or cream if the sauce thickens.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
