  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for topping)

  2. Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture.
  3. Pour in the milk, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic.
  5. Crack the egg into the bowl and mix.
  6. Sprinkle in the dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or a large casserole dish.
  9. Transfer the meatloaf mixture into the prepared baking dish and shape it into a loaf, about 2 inches high.
  10. Smooth the top with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
  11. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes.
  12. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top.
  13. If desired, sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  14. Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  15. Once done, let the casserole rest for about 10 minutes.
  16. Slice the meatloaf into generous portions, about 1-inch thick.
  17. Serve the meatloaf slices on a plate, drizzling extra marinara sauce over the top if desired.
  18. Pair with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad. Garlic bread is a great addition!
  19. Optionally, sprinkle fresh parsley or basil on top for garnish.
  20. If you have any leftovers, let the meatloaf cool completely before storing it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
