Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- Optional: sliced jalapeños for heat
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring frequently.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain excess fat from the skillet. Season with chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted.
- Warm the tortillas in a skillet or microwave for easy handling.
- Lay each tortilla flat and place a scoop of the beef filling in the center.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños (if using), sour cream, and salsa.
- Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards and roll from the bottom up to create a tight wrap.
- In the skillet, heat more olive oil over medium heat. Place wraps seam-side down and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until crispy. Remove and let cool slightly before slicing.
Notes
- Feel free to customize the fillings with your favorite vegetables or additional toppings.
- These wraps can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for a quick meal later.
- For a healthier option, you can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
