Enjoy these cheesy garlic knots, a delightful blend of soft dough and gooey mozzarella, perfect for snacking or as a side dish. Coated in a buttery garlic herb mixture, they are sure to impress at any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly flour your countertop or a large cutting board.
  3. Let the pizza dough sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes, then roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Slice the dough into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long (approximately 12 strips).
  5. Place about 1 tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese at one end of each strip. Optionally, sprinkle a little grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Roll the dough strip tightly into a knot shape, twisting it a couple of times for decoration. Tuck the ends underneath to seal in the cheese.
  7. Continue with the remaining strips of dough and place the knots on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter without browning it.
  9. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper into the melted butter.
  10. Generously coat each garlic knot with the garlic butter mixture using a pastry brush.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  12. Let the knots cool for a few minutes before serving.
  13. Brush with any remaining garlic butter right after they come out of the oven.
  14. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with extra parsley if desired. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and warm the knots on a baking sheet for about 5-10 minutes.
