Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag of Doritos (your favorite flavor, recommended: nacho cheese or cool ranch)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 8–10 slices)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Ensure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing. If needed, microwave for 15-20 seconds, being careful not to melt it.
- Add the sour cream to the bowl for a tangy flavor and smooth texture.
- Sprinkle in the garlic powder and onion powder to enhance the flavor.
- Blend the cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or spatula, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese, reserving some for topping later.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, keeping in mind that bacon and cheese are already salty.
- Grab a large serving platter or baking dish.
- Lay down a generous layer of Doritos on the bottom, breaking some chips if needed.
- Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture over the Doritos, spreading it evenly.
- Add another layer of Doritos on top of the cream cheese mixture.
- Repeat the layering process until you run out of ingredients, ideally stopping after two layers.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Optionally, add chopped green onions for garnish.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cover the assembled dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce to the cream cheese mixture.
