Enjoy a deliciously indulgent party snack with Bacon Cream Cheese Doritos! This layered treat features crunchy Doritos topped with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, crispy bacon, and cheddar cheese, making it an irresistible appetizer for any gathering. Perfect for serving warm or cold!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag of Doritos (your favorite flavor, recommended: nacho cheese or cool ranch)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 810 slices)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese. Ensure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing. If needed, microwave for 15-20 seconds, being careful not to melt it.
  2. Add the sour cream to the bowl for a tangy flavor and smooth texture.
  3. Sprinkle in the garlic powder and onion powder to enhance the flavor.
  4. Blend the cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or spatula, scraping down the sides of the bowl.
  5. Fold in the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese, reserving some for topping later.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, keeping in mind that bacon and cheese are already salty.
  7. Grab a large serving platter or baking dish.
  8. Lay down a generous layer of Doritos on the bottom, breaking some chips if needed.
  9. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture over the Doritos, spreading it evenly.
  10. Add another layer of Doritos on top of the cream cheese mixture.
  11. Repeat the layering process until you run out of ingredients, ideally stopping after two layers.
  12. Sprinkle the reserved crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  13. Optionally, add chopped green onions for garnish.
  14. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  15. Cover the assembled dish with aluminum foil.
  16. Bake for 15-20 minutes to warm through and melt the cheese.
  17. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  18. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding jalapeños or hot sauce to the cream cheese mixture.
