Rich, creamy, and packed with savory beef flavor, this one-pot homemade version of classic Hamburger Helper is the perfect cozy dinner — fast, easy, and way more delicious than the boxed kind!
1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 1/4 cups beef broth
1 cup milk
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups uncooked egg noodles
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Optional: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese for extra creaminess
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add ground beef and onion, cook until the beef is browned and the onion is softened (about 5–7 minutes).
Stir in garlic and cook for another minute. Drain excess grease if necessary.
Add beef broth, milk, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
Stir in the uncooked egg noodles.
Bring everything to a simmer. Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender.
Turn the heat to low. Stir in the sour cream (and cheddar cheese if using) until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Top with chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot and enjoy that homemade comfort goodness!
