Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package of crescent roll dough (8 oz)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped bacon. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the crispy bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon of bacon grease in the skillet.
- In the same skillet, add the ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese until well combined. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Open the crescent roll dough package and unroll it onto a clean, flat surface to form a large rectangle.
- Pinch the seams together to create a solid sheet of dough.
- Using a rolling pin, gently roll the dough out to make it slightly thinner and larger.
- Take a generous scoop of the beef and cheese mixture and place it at the wider end of the crescent roll dough (about 2-3 tablespoons of filling).
- Carefully roll the dough over the filling, starting from the wide end and tucking in the sides as you roll.
- Place the rollup seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining filling and dough.
- In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and minced garlic. Stir well.
- Using a pastry brush, generously brush the garlic butter over the tops of each rollup.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Keep an eye on them towards the end of the baking time to prevent over-browning.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can sprinkle some extra cheese on top before baking.
- These rollups can be served with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or marinara.
