Fudge Tunnel Cake

Moist, rich chocolate cake with a hidden tunnel of gooey fudge inside — every slice is an indulgent surprise! Perfect for celebrations or whenever you crave serious chocolate bliss.


🍴 Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box: eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 cup sour cream (for extra moisture)
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional for extra chocolatey goodness)

For the Fudge Filling:

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Prepare the Cake Batter:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a Bundt pan well.
Prepare the chocolate cake mix according to package instructions, then stir in sour cream and mini chocolate chips.

Make the Fudge Filling:

In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg until smooth.
Mix in the melted chocolate and vanilla extract until creamy.

Assemble:

Pour about half of the cake batter into the Bundt pan.
Spoon the fudge filling evenly around the center of the batter, careful not to touch the sides of the pan.
Cover with the remaining cake batter.

Bake:

Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the edge (not through the center tunnel) comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 15–20 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.


✨ To Serve:

Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with chocolate sauce, or top with whipped cream and berries for a showstopping dessert!
