Ingredients

- 2 medium-sized apples (preferably Granny Smith or Fuji)
- 1 large carrot
- 1 cucumber
- 1-inch piece of ginger root
- 1 cup of spinach or kale
- 1 lemon (juiced)
- 1 tablespoon of honey (optional)
- 1 cup of water or coconut water
- Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
- Thoroughly wash all fruits and vegetables under cold running water to remove dirt and pesticides.
- Peel the carrot and cut it into smaller chunks.
- Core the apples and slice them into quarters (skin can be left on or peeled).
- Peel the ginger root and slice it into smaller pieces.
- Remove tough stems from kale and chop leaves; rinse spinach.
- Cut the lemon in half and extract the juice, removing any seeds.
- Assemble your juicer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Juice the spinach or kale first, followed by cucumber, apples, and carrot.
- Add ginger pieces in between for optimal juicing.
- Pour the juice into a large mixing bowl or pitcher.
- Stir in the lemon juice and honey (if using) until dissolved.
- Add one cup of water or coconut water to the juice mixture.
- Adjust sweetness or acidity as desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or serve immediately over ice.
- Garnish with a slice of lemon or a sprig of mint.
- Serve immediately for the best flavor and nutrient retention.
